Kids are Important to Us!

The children’s ministry provides plans and executes ‘youth-focused’ worship, praise, and prayer on the First (1st) and Third (3rd) Sundays for First Baptist and Guest youth ages 5-12. Children’s Church services consist of music ministry, biblical study, altar call, fun biblical studies activities, and the preached Word of God. All youth ages 5-12 are welcomed/encouraged to join in worship during Children’s Church.

Nursery

This ministry provides secure care and biblical instruction for all children ages 1-4 during worship services, events, and programs. In the nursery, the children joyfully engage in biblically-based learning activities.

Children & Youth Groups

This ministry works with the youth of First Baptist and surrounding community in identified activities and worship, outreach, and mission opportunities to include community service, building the church float for the Christmas Parade, Youth Lock-Ins, Bible Studies, and monthly fellowship. All youth are in one of the following youth groups:

(Grades K-5)

Angelic Group

2nd Saturday at 9:00 am

This youth group provides age-appropriate sessions, activities, outings, and programs to develop an understanding of true Christian faith, discipleship, fellowship, and community service.

(Grades 6-8)

Paradise Group

3rd Saturday at 9:00 am

This youth group provides age-appropriate sessions, activities, retreats, outings, and programs to develop an understanding of true Christian faith, discipleship, fellowship, and community service.

The Paradise Group also participates in the annual Middle School Eagle-Eyrie Retreat in Lynchburg, Virginia sponsored by the Baptist General Convention of Virginia.
