My name is Candis Pope.  I have been a member of Manassas First Baptist for approximately 5 years.  I began teaching as a youth at First Mount Zion Baptist Church in Dumfries, Virginia under Augustus Gaskins. One year after returning home from college, I asked Rev. Gaskins if I could create my own ministry and call it “A Moment with the Little People”.  This was a time in the church service where youth between the ages of 1 & 10 could come down in front of the alter and I would share with them a parable just as Jesus shared parables with young children.  I kept it at their level so that they could understand God’s teachings.  Teaching God’s words in such a way opened my heart and my mind to greater ways of bringing God’s words to people.  It has become a passion and I welcome the opportunity to serve.
