What I Want You To Know This Week
First Baptist Church of Manassas

Good morning, Church. Here is what I want you to know this week. These are the things I lifted up from the pulpit this morning, in my own words, so nobody misses them. There is a great deal in front of us between now and the middle of the month, so read all the way to the bottom.

TODAY AFTER WORSHIP
Sawubona Recovery Ministry Presents Music and Testimonies
First Baptist Church of Manassas screen graphic

Today, Sunday, November 1, 12:30 PM to 2:30 PM, here at First Baptist Church of Manassas. “My Story, His Glory! I survived what should have broken me.” Isaiah 43:2. Lunch is served beginning at 11:30 AM, so you can eat and then stay right where you are.

This is testimony, song and hymn lifting up the name of Jesus, from brothers and sisters who are part of the restoration and recovery process.

What Was Said This Morning
If you are able to stay, I am asking you to stay. Maybe you had not planned for it. Look at your schedule, call who you need to call, text somebody and tell them you will be a little longer. If it were not for God and for the people we sit next to, we would be isolated, and isolation is where the devil does his best work. If he can get you to believe you are the only one going through it, that is a victory for him.

Sunday School is virtual only today at 10:30 AM, and virtual again next Sunday, November 8, for Senior Saints Sunday. If you are not staying for this afternoon, you can listen on your way home.

Adult Bible Study is Wednesday nights at 7:00 PM on Zoom. For our young adults ages 19 to 40, IGNITE Bible Study is Thursday nights from 7:30 to 8:30 PM, also on Zoom. The Zoom links for both are on our Facebook page, on the church website and in the church emails.

What Was Said This Morning
Here at First Baptist Church of Manassas we have many ways for you to live your faith, not just one. If you have a question about whether the IGNITE age range fits you, call in anyway and check it out. They can use the volunteers as well.

THIS TUESDAY
Election Day, November 3
First Baptist Church of Manassas screen graphic

Tuesday, November 3. If you did not vote early, Tuesday is the day.

What Was Said This Morning
Do not make excuses. Too much has gone on in our lives that made our ability to vote possible, and there are people who would take it away. As you vote in the secular, vote in the sacred too.

THIS THURSDAY
Free Medicare Question and Answer Session
First Baptist Church of Manassas screen graphic

Senior Saints Sunday
First Baptist Church of Manassas screen graphic

Next Sunday, November 8, is our annual Senior Saints Sunday. We will recognize our new Jewels, the FBC disciples who have turned 80 since 2023, and serve a brunch after worship for all of our seniors 65 and better.

If you turned 80 since 2023 and have not yet been recognized, please get in touch with the Deaconess Ministry so we can honor you properly.

What Was Said This Morning
I remember when it used to be 60, and then I made it to 60 and the number moved. So I am praying that I see 65 next year, and if the goal post moves again, I will keep praying.

If you would rather shop online, scan the code on the flyer for the Amazon wish list and have it shipped directly. Please enter “FBC DONATION” in the gift message so they know it came from us.

A WORD OF THANKS
Hallelujah Night

Hallelujah Night was last night, and it went off beautifully. A great night, a great spirit and real participation from our community.

What Was Said This Morning
A special thank you to all the men who worked it, and to our women, our sister helpers, our children and every volunteer who set up and showed up. Without you we would have been lost. Thank you, thank you, thank you.
Celebrating Our Church Family

We celebrated our birthdays and our wedding anniversaries this morning, and we want to lift up Deaconess Joan Myers, who celebrates her 81st birthday this Friday, November 6. Every birthday God gives is a blessing, and after what she and her family have walked through these last few years, this one is worth standing up for. She is still pressing her way. Bless the Lord.

If you are marking a birthday or an anniversary this week, whether you were in the sanctuary or watching on our e-campus livestream, the First Baptist family is praying it is a blessed one and that you have many more.
